The Amazon PPC Metrics Most Sellers Ignore (That Predict Profit)
These early signals reveal where your ad spend is being wasted, before ACoS shows it.
Everyone watches ACoS, and some track TACoS. However, the metrics that truly predict profit are often ignored by most sellers. If you're merely reacting to ACoS spikes, you're missing early signals that could guide more efficient spending.
Here are the 4 metrics we rely on to forecast performance early and help make smarter optimization decisions before your campaigns exhaust their budgets.

Click share tells you how often shoppers choose your ad when it’s shown.
If you're getting impressions but not clicks, your listing or offer isn’t competitive.
📌 Benchmarks vary by category, but if click share is flat, your spend increases, it isn't resonating with consumers.
2. Impression Rank

Impression rank shows where you stand compared to competitors bidding on the same keywords.
This metric provides a clear view of how visible your campaigns are.
If your rank is declining week over week, others are outbidding or out-converting you. Consider adjusting your bids or isolating stronger segments.
3. Keyword-Level Conversion Rate (CVR)

Blended CVR tells you very little. What matters is how each keyword performs.
Some may convert at a rate of 20%, while others may only convert at 2%. Treating them the same can lead to lost profits.
Segment high vs low-CVR terms. Remove what’s dragging down your performance or move to a discovery campaign.
4. Session Value

This metric tells you how much revenue each shopper generates, on average.
Rising traffic with falling session value = you're attracting the wrong clicks.
In this case, you don’t need more traffic; what you need is the right traffic. Use this to refine targeting and optimize ad placement.
By consistently tracking these metrics, you can take action early and prevent ACoS from becoming an issue, as well as safeguard your profit margins.
Most brands focus only on results after the fact. These metrics give you early indicators to act before performance drops.
We’ll run a quick check across these metrics and show you how to act on them.
